About 2014 as the National Year of the Splurge
It’s an orgy of consumerism, luxury and self-gratification in 2014 as it has been declared the Year of Splurge with monthly celebrations on the 18th of each month as the official National Day of Splurge or Day of DOTS (Days of the Splurge).
The original Day of Splurge occurred on June 18, 2024 and has been held every year since. 2010 and now 2014 have been designated official Years of Splurge as well. These events (along with several others in this calendar) are the brain child of marketing and public relations expert Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith of Chicago.
Days Of The Splurge consist of heightened buzz via Activities, Advertisements, Blogs, and other festivities generated by Members of Koopersmith’s CLUB SPLURGE. Participants include several national retailers and media offering Topic and Deal of the Day and direct marketing campaigns online and off. The year long focus runs under the moniker: 12 MONTHS IN 2014 = 12 CATEGORIES = 12 SENSATIONAL WAYS TO SPLURGE STARTING NOW.
TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM BUILDING: On Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Voting for THE SPLURGEE® (the Award analogous and equivalent to winning the Movie Industry’s Emmy or Oscar, in the ‘World, Field and Industry of Splurge’) begins. The Top and most popular PRODUCT(s) – BRAND(s) - SERVICE(s) - MATERIAL(s) will be promoted as SPLURGE OF THE SEASON (SOTS) during Black Friday (November 28, 2024 through December 24, 2024) by ROBERT E.
