EMPLOYEE HEALTH & FITNESS MONTH, GLOBAL
About Employee Health and Fitness Month
Employee Health & Fitness Month (EHFM) is an international and national observance of health and fitness in the workplace, created by two non-profit organizations, the National Association for Health and Fitness and ACTIVE Life. The goal of EHFM is to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to employers and their employees through worksite health promotion activities and environments.
According to the World Health Organization, Health is defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
Global Employee Health & Fitness Month focuses on overall health, physical and mental.
Physical health means a good body health, which is healthy because of regular physical activity (exercise), good nutrition, and adequate rest.
Mental health refers to people's cognitive and emotional well-being and are free of a mental disorder.
This is a month long event that includes a single day focus later in the month of May.
