EMPLOYEE HEALTH & FITNESS DAY, NTL.
About National Employee Health and Fitness Day
Employee Health & Fitness Day (3rd Wednesday every May) is part of Employee Health & Fitness Month (EHFM). This is a national observance of health and fitness in the workplace, created by two non-profit organizations, the National Association for Health and Fitness and ACTIVE Life. The goal of EHFM is to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to employers and their employees through worksite health promotion activities and environments.
According to the World Health Organization, Health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
Global Employee Health & Fitness Month focuses on overall health, physical and mental.
Physical health means a good body health, which is healthy because of regular physical activity (exercise), good nutrition, and adequate rest.
Mental health refers to people's cognitive and emotional well-being and are free of a mental disorder.
